Notes: The Beach Club was founded in 1923 on the Santa Monica beach just north of the Santa Monica Pier, directly off the Pacific Coast Highway. The club was formed by a group of businessmen who were drawn together by their common recreational use of, and appreciation for, the spectacularly beautiful Santa Monica beaches.
Today (2023), there are roughly 650 member families with an operating income of roughly $7 million of which approximately two million comes from food and beverage sales.
According to a recent advertisement seeking a new general manager: "The Beach Club offers its members assorted beach activities (such as volleyball and surfing), multiple dining options, paddle tennis and numerous fitness/training/wellness opportunities–all in a warm and welcoming family-centric, multi-generational atmosphere."
In yet another advertisement for an Executive Chef: "With its 100th anniversary firmly in sight and a major aesthetic renovation and structural restoration of the classic 'beach‐style' clubhouse just completed and enthusiastically received by the membership, the club will complete its $20 million 'Heart of the House' renovation project in the summer of 2023, completely replacing the main kitchen area, grill kitchen area, main bar area, and staff areas. The new kitchen will feature dedicated A La Carte and Banquet lines with state-of-the-art equipment."
White body bouillon cup with a black stripe around the top followed by a light green stripe. Further down the cup is a black pinstripe which is broken by the placement of the club's logo. This consists of the two letters "B" and "C" on the diagonal in a black block letter font. Weaving through these two letters is a drawing of a flying fish in an olive green.
