Notes: The Brewster, a 15-story, 297 room and bath hotel, opened at 17-21 W 86th Street on September 27, 1927. In 1986, The Brewster was converted into 153 apartments.
Scammell produced the Lamberton china service that is crested with a shield in black and coin gold. The flanking border band has coin gold scrolls on a black background. (This same border was also used on china crested for the Lombardy Hotel, on 56th St, that opened in 1927). Nathan Straus & Sons was the distributor. Gorham Silver Co. made the hotel's silver that contains the same shield crest.
