Notes: Carl's Duck Farm restaurant was opened in 1936 by Carl DiMauro and was located at 99 Broadway, on the Newburyport Turnpike in Saugus, Massachusetts. An article in The Daily Item of Lynn, Massachusetts, dated Oct. 25, 1945, states: "Carl's Duck Farm, 90 Broadway, Saugus, has become a mecca for Greater Lynn diners in search of fine food, for they specialize in delicious duck and chicken dinners delectably prepared and attractively served.
"In addition to duck and chicken dinners, other foods such as steak, chops, lobsters and seafoods are served at this charming eating place on the turnpike where courtesy and friendliness are the keynote in catering to the public."
In 1957, the restaurant was purchased by Tony DeSpirito, a well-known horse racing jockey, and renamed Tony DeSpirito's. The building was destroyed by fire in June 1960.
