Manufacturer: Carr China Company
Pattern: Carr China Souvenir Cup
Date of cup: circa 1934 – 1952
Notes: Look at this cup that our friend Bill Montgomery found! Looks like a State Parks piece, right? Except it's on a white clay body with red lines (rather than rust) and is backstamped:
SOUVENIR
OF
CARR CHINA
GRAFTON,
W.VA.
We're guessing this might have been a giveaway at Christmas to employees and distributors, and Bill suggested it could have been given away during plant tours. But if that were the case, wouldn't more have surfaced by now? We would love to know more about it.
Editor's note: This entry comes from the Carr China website whose content has been transferred to the IDwiki. An effort was made on that site to capture as many examples produced by Carr as possible, and for that reason they might include more mystery patterns and topmarked pieces, or those that might not ordinarily be thought of strictly speaking as restaurant ware.
