Manufacturer: Carr China Company
Pattern: Wiener Dog
Date of item: Unknown
Notes: Carr collector Pat Ann Mayle was kind enough to share these photos with us, and here is her description: "We have seen less than a half a dozen of the wiener dogs and one that was made into an ashtray that had a base under the dog. None of them were marked. No place to stamp them. Some of them were Glo-Tan with brown spots on the dog. This wiener dog is white."
They look like knife rests and remind us of some of the other atypical ware that came out of the plant, such as these frogs.
Editor's note: This entry comes from the Carr China website whose content has been transferred to the IDwiki. An effort was made on that site to capture as many examples produced by Carr as possible, and for that reason they might include more mystery patterns and topmarked pieces, or those that might not ordinarily be thought of strictly speaking as restaurant ware.
