Manufacturer: Carr China Company
Pattern: Carr Mystery Pattern 10
Date of plate: circa 1934 – 1937
Notes: Photos of this fabulous 1930s-era test plate were shared with us by Penny Hunt; it comes from her mother's collection.
It bears the distinctive ~M~ signature used by Paul C. Mattson, a designer at Carr from 1934 to 1937. It bears some resemblance in style to the A La Mode pattern and to Lydia.
Editor's note: This entry comes from the Carr China website whose content has been transferred to the IDwiki. An effort was made on that site to capture as many examples produced by Carr as possible, and for that reason they might include more mystery patterns and topmarked pieces, or those that might not ordinarily be thought of strictly speaking as restaurant ware.
