A story in the July 27, 1907 Cambridge (Mass.) Chronicle detailed the history of Davis Ice Cream, which was started in 1885 in Charlestown, Mass., by E.G. Davis, president, and his son, C.E. Davis, treasurer. The company built its new factory in 1902 in Cambridge and supplied "leading hotels and ocean steamers."
The design, in monotone green, depicts a smiling woman in hat behind a dish of ice cream. In a circle around her are the words: Davis Quality. Below is: Davis Ice Cream Company – and – Cambridge.
