Notes: Dawn Donuts opened as a bakery in Jackson, Michigan in 1920. Dawn referred to the time of day when bakers made their donuts. The company had locations throughout Michigan which were so famous for their donuts that they eventually closed their bakeries and opened the nations first mix company and are now known as Dawn Food Products.
