Notes: The Hotel de L'Europe is situated on the Amstel river in the heart of Amsterdam and dates back to the late 1800s. It has a world-renowned lobby and showcases several pieces of fine art, in addition to offering upscale, 5-star customer service.

White medium gauge 4 1/4" round body ashtray with six cigarette rests and a red-orange overglaze logo centered in the well. Logo shows crown at top with two leaning shields beneath: the left shield has three vertical fields with three stacked X's in the center and the right shield has a person carrying an implement over their shoulder. The background has a royal band connecting all three parts.

Intended as a hotel service item, a souvenir and a piece for advertising, the backstamp declares that the piece has been honestly stolen from the Hotel.
