Manufacturer: Carr China and Sterling China
Pattern name: Erwin
Date: Carr, circa 1940s – circa 1952; Sterling, unknown
Notes: Erwin was a longtime stock pattern made by Carr China, and it is assumed that Sterling made this identical pattern with the same name after Carr went out of business in 1952. Several different shapes have been found with the Sterling backstamp, but not all have the Erwin addition. It's interesting, too, that atypical of its usual backstamps, Sterling chose to use a script font that evokes the Carr backstamp style.
Art Deco border print found on both white and tan-bodied china.
