Notes: The six-story, 200-room Falmouth Hotel was located at 212 Middle Street in Portland, Maine. Built in 1867, by John B. Brown, at a cost of $300,000, it opened on June 29, 1868. The hotel's register bears the names of five presidents: Grant, McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt, Harding, and Taft. By the early 1960s, the hotel had fallen on hard times and the City of Portland took the hotel and demolished it in 1963.
This small, white bodied, green logoed, individual, handled creamer was identified by the initials J J P in the logo and found to be J. J. Pooler, owner/manager of the hotel from 1911 – 1916, through searches of Portland City Directories. Keyword: JJP
