Notes: Fred's Barbeque was a chain of barbeque restaurants in the Dallas, Texas, area during the 1950s. With at least eight locations, they specialized in "Family Style" dinners that featured "heaping portions of a variety of beef, ham, sausage, ribs, and chicken with our famous sauce." When Fred's Barbeque locations actually opened and closed is not known, but it appears that the location at 808 East Irving Blvd. was probably the last to shut down.
White body vitrified china platter with a wide dark brown band covering about half of the outer rim. At the top of the platter is Fred's logo, which is placed just under the brown band and bleeds down the verge and into the well. The logo, all in shades of brown, consists of the word "Fred's" in a fancy script over the top of a burning log under which are the words "Hickory Barbeque" in a font that resembles logs.
