Manufacturer: Sterling China
User: Freez-Ette Restaurant
Date of platter: 1959
Notes: Freez-Ette Corporation was founded in August 1952, by James Jerles in Saint Petersburg, Florida. According to an advertising napkin (shown above), "Freez-Ette is one of the world's finest frozen dairy products … Builds strong bodies and muscles. Helps to keep that school girl complexion. Last, but not least, Freez-Ette is non-fattening."
During the 1950's and 60's the corporation franchised its name and dairy product equipment to a variety of restaurants, drive-ins, and dinettes primarily in Florida, but also states like Texas and Ohio.
Although the Florida Corporation was dissolved in January 1980, there is still a Freeze-Ette in Fernandina Beach, Florida, and Coal Grove, Ohio.
White body platter with the turquoise Freez-Ette logo on the top rim. The logo consists of the word "Freez-Ette" in block letters broken in the middle by a drawing of a soft-serve ice cream cone in front of a circle. The top of the letter "F" runs completely across the top of all the other letters in both words.
