Notes: Hickory House Restaurant, famous for its steaks, pork chops and seafood, had operations in New York City and in Miami Beach Florida. The New York restaurant was located at 144 West 52nd Street. The Miami Beach restaurant was located at 23rd and Liberty. The restaurants were known for broiling over hickory wood, which gave the food a unique and outstanding taste. The seafood menu included Maine Oysters, Lobster, Crab, and Shrimp. In the late 1940's the New York Restaurant was also known to have live jazz music, which included Marian McPartland, Wingy Manone, Bob Howard, Jutta Hipp, Peter Nero (Nierow) and many others.
