Notes: This dinner-size plate has a central image of the Jackson plant as seen at the time from Route 950 in Falls Creek, Penn. As the photo above (taken in 2016) reflects, the buildings are no longer there and the site has been through a thorough EPA cleanup, but the character of the area, and its road going back to where the plant was, remain.

This plate that advertises its vitrified line of china would most likely have been used in the showrooms of distributors (or possibly department stores). On either side of the verge are bands of black, red and orange, with the central circle in the well is outlined with a heavy black line.

The backstamp of the plate is the same image as the plate holder in which it sits (that advertises the early Jaxon line of china). And that is the date range used. The book Jackson China by James Strano shows this plate in a 6 1/2-inch version and also one in the same size with three clusters of pinecones around the rim, and they both have the same backstamp as this plate.
