Notes: The hotel opened in 1929 and was Richmond's leading hotel for many years. According to one website, prominent guests included Spiro T. Agnew, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Lawrence Welk, Elvis Presley, Vincent Price, Mary Tyler Moore and Elizabeth Taylor.
