Notes: Kenyon College is a private college in Gambier, Ohio. When it was founded in 1824, it had a theological program that ran in tandem with a seminary, Bexley Hall, which might explain the crosses on its purple shield, along with the chevron, sword and the book. The school's motto is: Magnanimiter Crucem Sustine or Valiantly bear the cross. The school colors are purple and white.
Although the backstamp says Trenton China, in his book "The History of the Lamberton Works" Larry Paul indicates that this mark was made by Sterling China after December 1954 and until at least 1962 and therefore the Sterling China date codes should be applied.
