Notes: In 1920, Walter Knott started a berry farm in Buena Park, California with a roadside stand selling jams, jellies and pies. Knott's Berry Farm was a popular tourist destination that grew into a commercial, western-themed amusement park, complete with a Ghost Town and restaurants. In 1968, a fence was erected and an admission of 25 cents was charged.
Walter Knott died in 1981 and the amusement park later was sold to the Cedar Fair Entertainment Company in 1997.
