Manufacturer: Jackson China
User: Lydecker's Northwood Inn – Butler, New Jersey
Date of plate: 1968
Notes: Abram A. "Abe" Lydecker bought the New Blue Moon Inn, located on Route 23 in Butler, N.J., and renamed it Lydecker's Northwood Inn. It opened on May 30, 1947, according to Paterson's The Morning Call.
The last newspaper stories found for what was called either Northwood Inn or Lydecker's were in May 1976, referring to a dinner held there, and in June 1977, referring to "a luncheon at Le Jarden (formerly the Northwood Inn), Route 23, Butler."
Lydecker, 55, died in June 1975 after running his eponymous restaurant for 28 years. At some point during its operation, restaurateur John Podesta was also a partner in Lydecker's.
The plate features an off-center cameo of a woman with upswept hair in a black oval.
