Manufacturer: Mayer China
Pattern name: Manhattan
Date of True Ivory plate and grouping: Circa 1930s
Date of bouillon cup: Circa 1940s-1960s
Notes: The pattern has a subdued mint green background with bright pastel vines, acanthus leaves and flowers in the border design that covers the rim. It is surrounded on each side by a narrow white space and then a thin line in a slightly darker mint or sage green.
Similar to the Manhattan pattern made by Buffalo China for United States Lines, this pattern has the notable absence of torches spaced at intervals around the design, and the pattern used by the shipping company seems to have been consistently backstamped for the lines, too.
