The property, located at 481 Eagle Rock Avenue, West Orange, was purchased in 1942 by local businessman Martin L. Horn Sr. After much renovation, the property was transformed into a 'gracious home' which was used as a private luncheon club. It then evolved into a restaurant and catering facility known as Mayfair Farms. In 1943, Martin Horn was awarded the first President of the New Jersey Restaurant Association for his faithful service.
"Mayfair … was an iconic location known for having beautiful wedding receptions and events."
According to its Facebook page, Mayfair Farms closed on June 30, 2022.
