Notes: The 12-floor, 450-room Mayflower Hotel opened its doors May 18, 1931 at 263 South Main Street in Akron, Ohio. In 1956, it became the Sheraton-Mayflower Hotel. It is now the Mayflower Manor (apartments).
The September 1931 issue of Hotel Monthly includes an article about the opening of the Mayflower; the Puritan Room was the name given to the hotel's main dining rooms. In addition, it was noted that "The china service is Syracuse in a special pattern that includes an elaborate base plate."
