The hotel had trolley/streetcar service and advertised as "Take Yellow Cars – Transfer Westlake Car via Second Street". The area where the hotel was constructed was a very affluent area of Los Angeles. Many influential, social elite, and successful business people built their mansions in the area near the hotel.
