Notes: The Pine Grove Springs summer hotel was a very popular resort located directly on the shores of Lake Spofford in Spofford, N.H. The magnificent four story Victorian-style hotel was built in the late 19th century by James H. Stears. In 1900, F.B. Alvard was the manager.
The hotel not only had a main building, but also offered guest cottages to stay in. The hotel provided many amenities, including a boathouse for guests to enjoy the lake activities, and a golf course.
