Manufacturer: Mayer China
User: Placer Inn
Date of teapot: 1920s – 1930s
Notes: This teapot is from the Placer Inn Dining Room / Coffee Shop / Restaurant located in Idaho Springs, Colorado. Idaho Springs was a major mining town and is in the heart of the Rocky Mountains near the Rocky Mountain National Park, only 25 miles from Denver. The dining room was a very popular location for persons traveling to the resort area of Idaho Springs. Today (2008), the Inn is a brewery-pub called Tommyknockers and caters to people who visit Idaho Springs to enjoy skiing, snowboarding and the historical aspects of the community — similar to what patrons did 75 plus years ago when this teapot was used.
It has a multi-colored logo of a prospector working his claim with the mountains in the foreground behind him. There are orange and black stripes on the teapot and lid.
