Manufacturer: Syracuse China
User: Rhodes' – Unknown user and location
Date of platter: 1941
Notes: We know nothing about Rhodes' – if it was a restaurant or a hotel, for example, not to mention where it was located. It is being entered here due to its strong resemblance to the "leaping deer" china used at the Lake Placid Club. Although the resemblance is strong, it is interesting to note that mountain that the deer is leaping over is considerably different from the Lake Placid Club mountain (Whiteface Mountain). In addition, the deer depicted in the two designs has subtles differences, as shown at left.
White body vitrified china that is airbrushed in shades of blue ranging from light to navy. On the rim and spilling down into the well are white and blue fir trees. In the center of the platter's well is a navy blue leaping deer over a mountain top.
