Notes: Vincent Sardi, Sr. opened Sardi's in March of 1921 at 234 West 44th Street in Manhattan, New York, in a new building owned by theater magnets the Shubert brothers.
Sardi's became "the place" to see and be seen in the world of the New York City Broadway Stage. To accommodate the theater crowd, Sardi kept much later hours than other area establishments.
Sardi's has also become known for their caricatures of Broadway stars, to date they have over 1300 celeberties on display.
