Notes: The is the second Southern Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. The first hotel was built in 1866 and burned April 11, 1877 with the loss of many lives. This plate is from the second Southern Hotel, which opened at 4th and Walnut streets in 1881. It went out of business in 1912 and was razed in 1933.
