Manufacturer: Syracuse China
Pattern: 89101
User: Rich's Department Store
Date of saucer: 1947
Date of egg cup: 1948
Notes: Identified as Pattern 89101 with an Econo-Rim shape in an illustrated 1937 Syracuse China catalog. This pattern is also shown in a binder of Syracuse underglazed patterns and dated June 14, 1935.
This pattern was used in the Tearoom of Rich's Department Store in Atlanta. Click here to see a photo from the Georgia State University Digital Collections of a 1943 Pioneer Women meeting held at the restaurant. If you zoom in on the china you can clearly see this pattern. It is not known if this was a custom pattern for Rich's so it is assumed for now that it was a stock pattern.
Tan body with multi-color band of vertical stripes with varying widths in alternating green, black, yellow, blue, red, and white colors. Shown above on Econo-Rim shape and Adobe Ware body.
