The unit's crest has the motto Fides Et Audax, meaning – according to a Pentagon website – Faithful and Bold. The crest is that of the Ohio Army National Guard, including the blue saltire that represents Civil War service with the Union forces. The three alerions, taken from the arms of Lorraine, signify World War I service.
Both the platter and the fruit bowl are backstamped for 1949.
