Notes: Located in Redlands, Calif., the school was founded in 1907 by the American Baptist Convention. The first president was Jasper Newton Field, minister of the First Baptist Church in Redlands and instrumental in convincing the convention to locate the school there. The first students were admitted in 1909.

Today the University of Redlands is rated among the top regional universities in the west.
