Manufacturers: Syracuse China and Buffalo China
Pattern name: Violets and Daisies
User: Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad, among many other establishments
Date of Syracuse cup: 1950; date of Syracuse cup with RR backstamp: 1939
Notes: Violets and Daisies was a popular Syracuse stock pattern. Railroad experts note that the pattern, when backstamped (and also sometimes when not) was used by the CB&Q RR for many years. It was known as Violets and Daisies as both a stock and custom pattern.
Without a railroad backstamp, it is impossible to state whether an unmarked piece was used by the CB&Q. Marked pieces therefore tend to have more value as a railroad collectible than unmarked pieces.
Other known manufacturers of the pattern were Bauscher, Shenango and Haviland.
