Manufacturer: Carr China Company
Pattern: Underglaze Print Pattern 6135
Date of soup bowl: 1942
Notes: This pattern was one that was inherited by Carr when the Warwick plant closed in 1951. It was known as Border Print Pattern #6135 and was used at Hotel Rowe in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Jim Mitchell, curator of the West Virginia State Museum, also refers to this as #6135 when used by Carr.
It is interesting that the backstamp dates the soup bowl to 1942. It may be that the decorators used old new stock or that the pottery was also an earlier Rowe Hotel customer.
