The hotel was three blocks from the New York, New Haven and Hartford and Boston and Albany rail station.

The opulent theater included a vaudeville stock company and performance troupe. In 1917, a projection booth was added to the theater for films and by 1921 the theater was renamed the Arlington Theatre. During the 1920s, however, the theater returned to live shows and later the name reverted back to Castle Square Theatre.

The hotel and theater closed during the Great Depression and both were demolished December 1932-January 1933.

Beaded edge, scroll border, all in deep green; crest is green castle with three turrets, flags, ribbon banner with Castle Square Hotel, and Boston, Mass. below. In the center of the castle in deep red are the intertwined initials or monogram, CSH.

Buffalo China produced a similar piece with the same topmark for the Castle Square Theatre in 1916.
