Notes: Hudson Lunch was a popular name in the 1920s and 1930s, and references were found in New York; Paterson, N.J.; Lima, Ohio; and a New Hudson Lunch in Fort Wayne, Ind., to name a few. Other similar names were The Hudson Quick Service Lunch and Hudson Grill. It is not known where this plate was used or if it is related to The Hudson Quick Service Lunch, though the dark green scroll designs are similar on both.

One source for the pattern was The Hudson Lunch chain owned by E.A. Simpson of West Hartford, Connecticut. Simpson died in 1942, and the Daytona Beach Morning Journal carried his obituary on Dec. 24, 1942, citing his developments in Long Island, Hartford, Daytona Beach and the Hudson Lunches in New York state and Massachusetts.
