Notes:  The grill plate pictured above uses Carr's Athens pattern 6011. George Seros opened Seros Lunch at 1439 Griswold Street in Detroit in 1918, specializing in chili to the point that he renamed the company the Seros Chili Co. a year later. At one point he owned at least five restaurants.

It is said that he took advantage of the 1918 influenze epidemic by advertising (as shown in the matchbook above):
