Notes: The United States Lines was a transatlantic shipping company that operated cargo services from 1921 to 1989 and ocean liners until 1969, including the SS United States and SS America. Taking over the United States Mail Steamship Company in August 1921, the United States Lines operated under that name until the year 2000, when they changed their name to the American Classic Voyages Company. That company filed for bankruptcy in 2001.
