Manufacturer: Syracuse China
Pattern name: Utica – Underglaze #62101
Date of demi cup & saucer: 1947
Notes: This is the border pattern used by the Hotel Utica on one of its orders of china. It is not known if it was also a stock pattern that Syracuse sold to other customers, but as shown above on the catalog page, it could have been ordered with either two lines or no lines. The Hotel Utica pattern, shown in the IDwiki, has two lines, and of course this example has one line.
The pattern was designed by Augustus J. Koch and copyright in August 1922. The pattern appears to be either cabbages – cabbage – or artichokes – or artichoke – or water lilies or water lily.
