Notes: This 300-room, 16-floor hotel was built in Miami, FL. It opened in 1926 with a famous rooftop restaurant – The Biscayne Room – and was demolished after 1973.
White body with border consisting of stylized lotus flowers, also known as Egyptian blue lily blossoms with leaves in shades of gray, blue, tan and rust. The flower is significant in Egyptian mythology and commonly depicted in Egyptian art.
This border pattern as produced by the Maddock Pottery Co. was known as the Egyptian pattern and was used by several venues, including the Hotel Kimball and the Blue Goose Cafe in the White Hotel. Buffalo China also produced a similar border pattern for the Hotel Kimball in 1917.
